Alternate Byzantine Flag

An alternate version of the flag of the Byzantine Empire under the Palaiologos Dynasty (1260 - 1453). It features the Labarum in the center, the Alpha and Omega letters to the sides, the Byzantine eagle to the top and the four Beta letters in the corners, representing the "King of Kings Ruling over Rulers" (Basileus Basileon Basileuon Basileusi). Historically, the alpha and the omega next to the labarum represents the all-encompassing Jesus Christ, since Alpha represents the first letter of the Greek alphabet, while Omega stands as the last. The Labarum has the letters Chi (X) and Rho (P) designated on it, representing the first two letters of Christ's name (Χριστός).
